We’ll be having a discussion group / documentary film showing on Wed night (10/3) at 7:00pm at the Newark Bike Project (7 Elkton Rd).
This summer while traveling through Uganda, one of our bike shop volunteers (Justin de Leon) was with a group that ran into a little boy in a remote village wearing a used UD shirt. As novel as this was, it brought up a lot of questions about development and the relationship between the global North and the global South. Subsequently, Justin found a great documentary that talks about these issues in the context of justice and development.
The context of second-hand and reused items also has a lot in common with NBP as the used community bike shop in Newark. Please come and join us for the hour-long documentary and discussion afterwards… it should be a great opportunity to learn, to share, and to delve into these meaningful issues!
