Goodbye Elkton Road! Hello Main Street!
Yes friends, it’s that time of year again, our nomadic bike shop is on the move to bigger and better places! Literally… much bigger. NBP has scored a location at 58 E Main Street where the old Delaware Book Exchange use to be! We are excited and ecstatic about the move and would like to ask for your help in setting up the new shop.
Over the next two Saturdays we are asking volunteers to help prepare the new shop and move all bikes / parts / tools. Each day will start at about 10am and go until we’re all too tuckered to lift anything but a cold beverage. We understand that some may have other commitments on these days, so if you can offer your help in shifts, or even just for a few hours, please do!!
Here is the schedule:
Sat., Aug 3rd, 10am: Prep New Shop @ 58 E Main Street (Old Book Exchange)
- Move Shelving and work benches (already at 58 E Main)
- Clean carpets, toilets, etc
- Paint signage on the front awning (requires stencils or artist)
Sat., Aug 10th, 10am: BIG MOVING DAY!
- Rent UHaul
- Move large pieces of furniture (ie. front counter, shelving, etc)
- Build new wheel rack hangers and install work bench
- Move over parts and tools
- Bring on the bikes!
If you are able to volunteer, please let us know so that we can plan for your assistance. We will supply food and beverages for our volunteers and make merry with new & old friends! We’re all eagerly anticipating the first open shop at the new location, thank you in advance for any time or assistance you can provide to facilitate this move and hope to see you soon!
